Trade marks are registered in accordance with a classification system. There are 45 different classes that cover a range of products and services.
The costs associated with registration are dependent on the number of classes that you opt to include in an application.
We advise clients to focus the class(es) that will cover their core business, products and/or services.
Please note once an application is filed, it's not possible to add additional classes, products or services. We'll work with you to prepare the right specification of goods and services to cover your business needs.

From application to registration, provided the application proceeds through smoothly without issue, will take about 7-8 months for your mark to registered.
We can request expedited examination of any application at a cost of AU$150 + GST for each application. While it doesn’t speed up the registration process, it will help your application get examined sooner rather than later.
Expedited examination can be helpful if you're looking to protect your mark internationally.
